mark keller_05: flexible tower

FLEXIBLE TOWER



A framework is composed by extracting five profiles from a multi-section solid. The solid lofts from a triangular profile at the base to a hexagonal profile back to a triangular profile at the top.



The desire is that the tower will bend substantially under its own weight. To accomplish this, members were sized at 2x3 Douglas Fir timber, and self weight was analyzed at 10 times the density of Douglas Fir.
